DETV is proud to launch The Group Chat, a new teen conversation series that gives young people a real space to talk about the things that shape their lives. The pilot episode dives into one of the biggest topics facing teens today: social media and mental health.

Real Talk. Real Issues. Real Life.

In this first episode, teens, parents, and community voices came together for an honest conversation. They talked about the pressure to look perfect online, the fear of missing out, and how endless scrolling can affect how young people feel about themselves.

The goal was simple. Give teens a safe place to speak, listen, and feel understood. No judgment. Just real conversations, real stories, and real change.

Why This Matters for Delaware

Social media is now part of daily life for almost every young person. It can connect us, inspire us, and give us a voice. It can also add stress, anxiety, and pressure that many teens carry alone.

DETV believes that talking about mental health out loud helps break the silence. When teens see that they are not the only ones struggling, it becomes easier to ask for help and support each other.

Part of a Bigger Mission

The Group Chat is part of DETV Teens, our growing effort to lift up youth voices, support mental wellness, and build stronger communities across Delaware. Through television, social media, and community events, we want every young person to know that their story matters.
