DETV Celebrates Grand Opening and a New Era for Delaware Media

DETV officially opened the doors to its new media headquarters with a grand opening celebration that marked a major milestone for local journalism, community storytelling, business innovation and Delaware-based broadcasting.

Community leaders, business owners, elected officials, supporters, viewers and members of the DETV family gathered to celebrate the growth of a company that began as a small vision and has developed into one of Delaware’s leading independent media organizations.

The grand opening represented more than the launch of a new building. It reflected years of hard work, perseverance and a commitment to creating a media platform focused on the people, businesses and communities of Delaware.

Founded by Ivan Thomas, DETV was created to give Delaware residents a stronger voice and greater access to professional local programming. What began as a grassroots operation has grown into a multimedia network producing news, sports, entertainment, youth programming, business content and community-focused shows.

“This space represents what can happen when you believe in a vision, remain committed to the community and refuse to give up,” Thomas said. “DETV belongs to Delaware. This grand opening is a celebration of every person, organization and partner who helped us get here.”

Guests toured the facility and received a behind-the-scenes look at DETV’s television studios, production areas, podcast spaces and digital media capabilities. The event also highlighted the company’s growing ability to produce live broadcasts, original programming, branded content, commercials and digital campaigns for businesses and nonprofit organizations.

The new location will support the continued growth of programs such as “Good Morning Delaware,” DETV News, local sports coverage, youth media initiatives and original community programming.

The expansion also creates new opportunities for students, entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders and emerging media professionals to receive training, gain exposure and tell stories that may not always receive attention from larger media outlets.

For DETV, community impact remains at the center of its mission.

The company plans to use the new facility as a media hub where education, technology, creativity and community engagement come together. Through partnerships with schools, businesses, government agencies and nonprofit organizations, DETV aims to expand its reach while developing the next generation of Delaware storytellers.

The grand opening also served as an opportunity to recognize the employees, producers, volunteers, sponsors and community partners who contributed to the organization’s success.

As DETV enters its next chapter, the company remains focused on expanding local programming, increasing digital distribution and helping Delaware businesses connect with audiences across television, streaming platforms and social media.

“This is only the beginning,” Thomas said. “We are building something that will serve Delaware for generations.”

The grand opening marked a proud moment for DETV and a new chapter for local media. With a larger platform, expanded resources and a strong community foundation, DETV is positioned to continue sharing Delaware’s stories with the state, the nation and the world.
